ichel Muller is a percussionist, bassist, and music director whose career blends performance, education, and community. His connection to music began early, when school concerts first showed him how sound could fill a room with energy and possibility. What started as childhood fascination has grown into a lifelong pursuit of creativity and collaboration.
At eighteen, Michel joined a performance tour through Europe—an experience that reshaped how he viewed music’s power to connect people beyond words. Since then, he has built a wide-ranging career across Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, performing as a timpanist, percussionist, and bassist in orchestras, chamber groups, and a lively Caribbean steel pan ensemble.
Michel’s passion for teaching is just as strong as his passion for performing. He works with students of all ages, teaching the fundamentals of every major instrument and helping them develop both skill and confidence through hands-on, personal instruction. His teaching philosophy centers on curiosity, patience, and joy—the same qualities that shaped his own musical path.
He also directs the Tufts University Pep Band, leading students in high-energy performances at football games and campus events that bring music, teamwork, and school spirit together. Across every setting—on stage, in rehearsal, or in the classroom—Michel continues to share what first inspired him: the simple, transformative power of making music together.
